Thank you for visiting the Whispering Pines web site.

As the developers, Dottie and I would like you to know a little more about our vision for the Whispering Pines community and about us, since we will have a home there.

We want The Preserve at Whispering Pines to be a sanctuary where Owners, along with their families and friends, can be at one with nature and/or take advantage of the anticipated community activities.

The Preserve at Whispering Pines will encourage mutual respect and common sense. Our goal is to protect property values without creating overbearing restrictions. We will rely on the Owners' Association to promote "community values".

We are limiting the development of the over 430 acres of beautiful rolling Tennessee hills to approximately 63 lots. This will leave about 150 acres of common land, that will be deeded to the Whispering Pines Owners' Association. Pine Lake is a private 18.5 acre spring fed lake, entirely within, and owned by, the Whispering Pines Owners' association. No gasoline motors are permitted. The lake was stocked about 30 years ago with large mouthed bass, bluegill (sunfish), crappie (pronounced croppie) and catfish. Trout have been added in 2008.

A second lake has been built as part of phase II. There are streams, woods, abundant wildlife, wildflowers, several ponds, and small waterfalls. These provide endless opportunities for exploration and contemplation. On a more mundane note, utilities are underground to preserve as many trees as possible. Sewerage will be handled by septic systems installed by owners.

A sign at the corner of Pine Lake Road identifies the community to the public. An electronic access gate is located about 500 feet up the road and a covered bridge spans a stream and leads to Phase I. As you travel along the road you will see the Whispering Pines clubhouse and the beach area. The clubhouse provides a central meeting place for community activities. A community dock with boat launching ramp is planned for the opposite side of the lake.

A wildlife viewing area is planned for the north end of Pine Lake. This area will be "reserved" for wildlife. The area is particularly suited for birds, deer, etc. A small parking area with a trail and boardwalk will lead to a raised viewing platform.

Rich and Dottie are expecting 5-10 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and walking. Other contemplated amenities include gardens, walks, gazebo, picnic/playground and a storage facility.

About Rich - Rich retired from the corporate world after working for Equitable Life (in New York), EQUICOR and Baptist Hospital (both in Nashville). During his career he managed and directed both technical (systems) and line (operations) organizations. His outside interests include investment real estate, mission based home repair (Mountain T.O.P.), Habitat for Humanity and historical miniatures (toy soldiers).

About Dottie - Dottie is a registered nurse. She retired from Alive Hospice after 23 years. She is the family Matriarch and is the initiator of many activities and events enjoyed by our two daughters and six grandchildren (as well as our extended family and friends). It has been our lifelong dream to create a special place for family and friends.
